Disney markets Halloween at Latino spots

The Disneyland Resort is pumping up its Halloween promotion by marketing its villain characters for the second year. For the first time, the resort is taking the villain characters straight to events targeting Spanish-speaking audiences.
Disney has organized booths and rallies at nine events aimed at Latinos, handing out buttons and bumper stickers to urge participants to "vota por," or vote for, their favorite villain. The events conclude this weekend.


The Latino marketing is part of Disney's larger campaign that uses villains as a focus. Disney is running a website on which anyone can cast ballots for their favorite villain character. Voting ends Oct. 28.


Most Disney characters are usually only seen within the theme parks. But Disney is bringing out characters for this promotion.
